Position #1: Environmental Project Coordinator
This position involves providing technical and administrative support for multiple environmental projects, under general supervision. Primary duties include:
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, community leaders, project managers, and technical teams to gather information and data related to environmental and agricultural projects.
- Providing technical assistance to community members and others on the frontlines.
- Conducting research on environmental and agricultural issues, regulatory frameworks, and relevant case studies to inform proposal content.
- Developing compelling executive summaries, project descriptions, and narratives for proposals.
- Transforming technical and scientific content into clear, concise, and persuasive content for social media, technical reports, proposals, and other documents.
- Analyzing and presenting information related to environmental disparities, impacts, and community needs to support proposals and reports.
- Traveling occasionally to work with clients in the Carolinas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or related field
- 2-5 years of applied environmental work experience
- Excellent writing, organizational, and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical individuals
- GIS skills, preferred.

Position #2: Technical Writer
This position involves technical writing for federal, state, and philanthropic grants. Primary duties include:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, and technical teams to gather information and data related to environmental justice projects.
- Transform technical and scientific content into clear, concise, and persuasive proposal narratives.
- Ensure that proposals align with environmental justice principles, goals, and objectives.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct research on environmental justice issues, regulatory frameworks, and relevant case studies to inform proposal content.
- Analyze data and statistics related to environmental disparities, impacts, and community needs to support proposal arguments.
Writing and Editing:
- Write, edit, and proofread proposal sections to ensure accuracy, coherence, and adherence to proposal guidelines.
- Develop compelling executive summaries, project descriptions, and environmental justice narratives that resonate with reviewers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2-5 years of applied environmental work experience
- Excellent writing, organizational, and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical individuals
- Knowledge of the federal contracting landscape, preferred

Position #3: Community Thought Partner
Key Responsibilities
Project Management and Implementation
- Manage and oversee project implementation, ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with clients, community leaders, and technical teams to gather data and information pertinent to environmental and agricultural projects.
Research and Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to identify best practices and data for analysis.
- Develop and communicate research plans, progress, and results through technical reports, journal articles, and presentations.
- Create clear and compelling data visuals and summaries for diverse audiences.
Community Engagement and Workshop Facilitation
- Design and execute workshops for underserved farmers and community-based organizations on climate-smart agriculture and relevant USDA programs.
- Assist organizations in evaluating and measuring the impact of their projects.
Proposal Development and Grant Writing
- Contribute to or lead the writing of proposals, grants, and contracts.
- Develop executive summaries, project descriptions, and narratives for proposals.
Technical and Administrative Support
- Provide technical assistance and support to community members and stakeholders.
- Analyze and present information on environmental disparities and community needs.
Requirements:
- Must be based in North or South Carolina.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of applied environmental work experience.
- Exceptional writing, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
- GIS skills are preferred.
